The River supports missions around the world in various countries such as Haiti, Panama, Kenya, Cambodia, India and China.
The River supports the ministry of Dr. Santhosh Babu Desabattula in southern India. Santhosh is the Bishop and Director of Universal Church Ministries (UCM) founded in 1991. The organization has targeted ministries to help care for orphans, widows, lepers and women. Bishop Santhosh is also passionate about church planting in the villages. UCM trains new pastors at their Bible College, after graduation they are sent out to establish churches in villages that have never had a church or heard the gospel. The River has been invited many times to send mission teams to India to work with UMC at Pastor Training Conferences, Medical Clinics, Outreaches and Orphanages. The missions teams are always blessed and humbled to be able to serve with Bishop Santhosh and his team.
Find more information about Bishop Santhosh and UCM at their website.
The River youth group, The Flood, has an annual mission trip to the Darien Jungle in the Central American country of Panama. The youth and youth leaders trek out to the remote villages of Panama where the poorest people live. They live with the villagers, sharing God's love and performing physical works as an expression of that love. The youth have helped build and maintain orphanages, schools and churches in these destitute areas.
